Traditionally, the American Red Cross offers free, in-person emergency preparedness presentations to youth across the nation and abroad. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have developed an interactive presentation for students grades 3-5, or ages 7 -11 years old, created with support from the Los Angeles Region and their skilled presenters.
Topics discussed in this presentation include: an introduction to the Red Cross, proper hand washing techniques, a guided coping skills activity and home fire preparedness safety education.
For a companion resource with guided activities to do as a household that reaffirms what was learned in the curriculum, download the Household Preparedness Workbook.
Kids are especially vulnerable during disasters and emergencies. We have resources that can help keep youth safe during these situations.
