LOS ANGELES, June 27, 2026 — In coordination with city and county partners, the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region will close the City Terrace and Pecan shelters at 12 p.m. and 1:40 p.m. respectively, on Saturday, June 27. The emergency shelters supported people affected by the Palos Fire.
Residents seeking additional resources can call 211 for information on available county services.
“The Red Cross Los Angeles Region remains committed to supporting people affected by disasters and is grateful for the partnership of local agencies and the community throughout this response,” said Jacquelyn Clites, CEO of the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region. “We will continue to coordinate closely with partners as recovery efforts move forward.”
The shelters provided a safe place to stay, meals, health services and emotional support for individuals and families affected by hazardous air conditions following the industrial fire.
Assistance Still Available for Those Who Need It
Red Cross emergency shelters are designed to meet the immediate, short-term needs of people affected by disasters until longer-term recovery efforts can get underway. The Red Cross continues to support recovery by connecting people to resources and services.
People affected by the incident can continue to seek assistance by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or dialing 211 for local services.
