Taking a BLS Class

Basic Life Support Training
The American Red Cross offers BLS training for individuals and teams, and courses that are held entirely in person, or through our blended Simulation Learning experience, which combines online classwork with in-person skills sessions. This way, you can learn on your schedule - and in the way that suits you best. Regardless of which type of course you choose, you'll receive instruction from world-class professionals, as well as science-based information that includes the latest protocols, so you can deliver care to those in need and help improve patient outcomes.

Providing BLS Care
For BLS providers, when emergencies arise, it's your job to be able to provide care to whomever is in need. That's why Red Cross BLS classes cover best practices for delivering care to infants, children and adults. And because skills can be lost if they're not used regularly, we also offer refresher materials and a printout of some basic BLS steps that can help you stay sharp between calls.

Shawna was great
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.TomLa4 years agoIn today's COVID environment, holding in person training is difficult. Shawna managed to put it together wonderfully and in a way it was easy to follow and understand. She's a great instructor.

Quick, informative, and fun!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Alex21823 years agoMy instructor Christopher was great. He figured out what everyone’s levels of knowledge were and helped everyone individually improve their skills. I am happy to take this class and stay up to date on the new techniques since my last course. He was also very helpful over email when I had a question. I did 1/2 online 1/2 in person. I liked doing the lecture part online because I think I paid better attention to everything. Overall I would definitely recommend this course! They also provide a AHA ... tester if you need both (it costs extra).

Basic Life Support
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Joy Ann4 years agoI registered same week and got my money's worth. It was worth the trip. Excellent teaching methods. Loved our instructor. She allows you to make mistakes and do not pressure you. She also grouped us in the second group work. She allowed us to work as a team. Loved my classmates too and my group mates. I was the least experienced in this kind of training but because of them, I had a great time learning the lesson and learning from my mistakes. Loved our group. Thanks for the encouragement and great teamwork!

BLS Education and Training
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.SNM14 days agoIt was time for me to renew my BLS Certification, so I contacted The Amercian Red Cross to enroll in a class. The instructor that was assigned to our class was absolutely outstanding. He was meticulous in explaining the "why's and what for's" in every aspect of this course as well as continual reinforcement of the principles. He was an expert in engaging with the class, assessing the individual abilities of the students and then coaching them to ultimate success. In short, a master educator and ... trainer! This was a fantastic class!

Good for both Newbies and Healthcare Veterans
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Silphy2 weeks agoI've taken several CPR + BLS courses over my healthcare career and I feel this one is the most comprehensive. It seems to use the most updated info, so even someone like me who's been working in healthcare for a while learned a few new things. Also, they use mannequins for CPR that have indicator lights that light up in real time to show if your compression rhythm is approi, which makes it much easier to know what the appropriate compression rate should feel like. I recommend this to anyone ... going into healthcare for the first time or looking to stay up to date with their knowledge.

Great
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.gold254 weeks agoI completed this training last week. I found that I preferred the ARC training over the AHA training. More detailed information provided. The online piece took a little time and kept knocking me off on-line and I had to complete on my phone. Other than that I enjoyed the class
