Taking a BLS Class
Basic Life Support Training
The American Red Cross offers BLS training for individuals and teams, and courses that are held entirely in person, or through our blended Simulation Learning experience, which combines online classwork with in-person skills sessions. This way, you can learn on your schedule - and in the way that suits you best. Regardless of which type of course you choose, you'll receive instruction from world-class professionals, as well as science-based information that includes the latest protocols, so you can deliver care to those in need and help improve patient outcomes.
Providing BLS Care
For BLS providers, when emergencies arise, it's your job to be able to provide care to whomever is in need. That's why Red Cross BLS classes cover best practices for delivering care to infants, children and adults. And because skills can be lost if they're not used regularly, we also offer refresher materials and a printout of some basic BLS steps that can help you stay sharp between calls.

Quick, informative, and fun!

He figured out what everyone’s levels of knowledge were and helped everyone individually improve their skills. I am happy to take this class and stay up to date on the new techniques since my last course. He was also very helpful over email when I had a question. I did 1/2 online 1/2 in person. I liked doing the lecture part online because I think I paid better attention to everything. Overall I would definitely recommend this course! They also provide a AHA ... tester if you need both (it costs extra).

Keith Lorenz is not only knowledgeable and friendly - he gave us real life examples, experiences of his that made the problem-solving and critical thinking portion of our demonstrations understandable. You can also tell when someone is passionate about their work and their teaching. Keith exemplifies this. I can't say enough about Keith - I have taken many CPR courses over the years, but didn't feel as confident about it as I do now. Thank you.

I got my CNA license couple years ago from American Red Cross I have never forgotten what I learned from my instructors and I always go back to renewing my CPR Certification. Thank you American Red Cross

This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.yevgeniyaa1 week agoI had a pretty good experience, however I feel like the online portion and in class portion was somewhat the same so it felt a little bit repetitive. Alex is an amazing instructor and provided us with a lot of valuable information. He is very thorough and his practical session was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend him as an instructor to all my peers.

I have been BLS (or equivalent) certified for at least 12 years and this course put together my previous experience and knowledge and made me very comfortable to teach it in the future.
