Taking a BLS Class

Basic Life Support Training
The American Red Cross offers BLS training for individuals and teams, and courses that are held entirely in person, or through our blended Simulation Learning experience, which combines online classwork with in-person skills sessions. This way, you can learn on your schedule - and in the way that suits you best. Regardless of which type of course you choose, you'll receive instruction from world-class professionals, as well as science-based information that includes the latest protocols, so you can deliver care to those in need and help improve patient outcomes.

Providing BLS Care
For BLS providers, when emergencies arise, it's your job to be able to provide care to whomever is in need. That's why Red Cross BLS classes cover best practices for delivering care to infants, children and adults. And because skills can be lost if they're not used regularly, we also offer refresher materials and a printout of some basic BLS steps that can help you stay sharp between calls.

Excelllent Instructor
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.JBerglund6 years agoI took the BLS instructor course last week and could not be more impressed with the instructor. I have been BLS (or equivalent) certified for at least 12 years and this course put together my previous experience and knowledge and made me very comfortable to teach it in the future.

Quick, informative, and fun!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Alex21823 years agoMy instructor Christopher was great. He figured out what everyone’s levels of knowledge were and helped everyone individually improve their skills. I am happy to take this class and stay up to date on the new techniques since my last course. He was also very helpful over email when I had a question. I did 1/2 online 1/2 in person. I liked doing the lecture part online because I think I paid better attention to everything. Overall I would definitely recommend this course! They also provide a AHA ... tester if you need both (it costs extra).

BLS Class
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Hailey C4 years agoThe in-person class was the best part about the course. Keith Lorenz is not only knowledgeable and friendly - he gave us real life examples, experiences of his that made the problem-solving and critical thinking portion of our demonstrations understandable. You can also tell when someone is passionate about their work and their teaching. Keith exemplifies this. I can't say enough about Keith - I have taken many CPR courses over the years, but didn't feel as confident about it as I do now. Thank you.

Couldn't have gone better
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.JCarlin1 month agoThe process of selecting a date, time and location for the clinical portion of the class was very straight forward. It was easy to complete the online learning portion in my spare time. Everything I completed was saved automatically and I was able to pick up where I left off every time I logged back in. The clinical portion was concise, well organized, and provided an excellent review of the material. The instructor was kind, intelligent, and tailored the class to the needs of the ... participants. The mannequins utilized were clean, ample in number, and technologically superior to anything I have used in the past 25 years.

BLS certification
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.yevgeniyaa5 days agoI had a pretty good experience, however I feel like the online portion and in class portion was somewhat the same so it felt a little bit repetitive. Alex is an amazing instructor and provided us with a lot of valuable information. He is very thorough and his practical session was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend him as an instructor to all my peers.

Enjoyed the live demos and practicing on the model
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.mmgn2 weeks agoenjoyed the teacher, a couple things on the exam we did not go over in class but teacher acknowledged the discrepancies and was receptive. some more real world examples of what to expect vs textbook scenarios would be helpful to incorporate and hints to remember steps, since it can be a lot in time of a stressful situation.
