Taking a BLS Class
Basic Life Support Training
The American Red Cross offers BLS training for individuals and teams, and courses that are held entirely in person, or through our blended Simulation Learning experience, which combines online classwork with in-person skills sessions. This way, you can learn on your schedule - and in the way that suits you best. Regardless of which type of course you choose, you'll receive instruction from world-class professionals, as well as science-based information that includes the latest protocols, so you can deliver care to those in need and help improve patient outcomes.
Providing BLS Care
For BLS providers, when emergencies arise, it's your job to be able to provide care to whomever is in need. That's why Red Cross BLS classes cover best practices for delivering care to infants, children and adults. And because skills can be lost if they're not used regularly, we also offer refresher materials and a printout of some basic BLS steps that can help you stay sharp between calls.

This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Joy Ann4 years agoI registered same week and got my money's worth. It was worth the trip. Excellent teaching methods. Loved our instructor. She allows you to make mistakes and do not pressure you. She also grouped us in the second group work. She allowed us to work as a team. Loved my classmates too and my group mates. I was the least experienced in this kind of training but because of them, I had a great time learning the lesson and learning from my mistakes. Loved our group. Thanks for the encouragement and great teamwork!

Good Quality but Unnecessarily Long
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.VaEMT3 years agoThe course was good quality and the instructor was thorough, but the slides and videos during the in-person portion took longer than I believe that they should've. I may have just been impatient because I've taken the course before and I was only recertifying, so take my review with a grain of salt. Even with that accounted for, I still think that the information in the slides could have been condensed down into a more efficient presentation. Otherwise, it was a good course with a decent ... amount of hands-on work with adult/infant dummies. The instructor was very polite and I believe that she is competent in the subject matter.

Don't be intimidated, this is a fun course
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.RedcrossBLS13 weeks agoI was intimidated because this was my first BLS for healthcare providers course. But the online portion was helpful with video examples of how to correctly give aid. The in-person part was the most intimidating - I was quite scared but my classmates were friendly and the instructor was knowledgeable and very welcoming. The class turned out to be fun, not scary.

Alex is an amazing instructor and provided us with a lot of valuable information. He is very thorough and his practical session was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend him as an instructor to all my peers.
