Taking a BLS Class
Basic Life Support Training
The American Red Cross offers BLS training for individuals and teams, and courses that are held entirely in person, or through our blended Simulation Learning experience, which combines online classwork with in-person skills sessions. This way, you can learn on your schedule - and in the way that suits you best. Regardless of which type of course you choose, you'll receive instruction from world-class professionals, as well as science-based information that includes the latest protocols, so you can deliver care to those in need and help improve patient outcomes.
Providing BLS Care
For BLS providers, when emergencies arise, it's your job to be able to provide care to whomever is in need. That's why Red Cross BLS classes cover best practices for delivering care to infants, children and adults. And because skills can be lost if they're not used regularly, we also offer refresher materials and a printout of some basic BLS steps that can help you stay sharp between calls.

This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Joy Ann4 years agoI registered same week and got my money's worth. It was worth the trip. Excellent teaching methods. Loved our instructor. She allows you to make mistakes and do not pressure you. She also grouped us in the second group work. She allowed us to work as a team. Loved my classmates too and my group mates. I was the least experienced in this kind of training but because of them, I had a great time learning the lesson and learning from my mistakes. Loved our group. Thanks for the encouragement and great teamwork!

But I did feel well prepared as a first timer because of all the emphasis on and repetition of the important parts. It helped cement it in my brain. I’d say it just needs a little more of the physical practicing. I am a particularly small person and could’ve used more practice pressing down so hard.

Alex is an amazing instructor and provided us with a lot of valuable information. He is very thorough and his practical session was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend him as an instructor to all my peers.

He talked me through everything and made sure that I did everything correctly. He made learning fun! He answered my questions and demonstrated them for me without complaint - super nice and friendly!

The instructor was truly excellent, demonstrating a deep understanding of the material and a knack for making complex information easy to grasp. Enjoyed the live demos and practicing on the model
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.mmgn1 month agoenjoyed the teacher, a couple things on the exam we did not go over in class but teacher acknowledged the discrepancies and was receptive. some more real world examples of what to expect vs textbook scenarios would be helpful to incorporate and hints to remember steps, since it can be a lot in time of a stressful situation.
