Performing First Aid
At the Red Cross, first aid training prepares you to provide care to children, adults, and pets during times of crisis. However, like many things, if you don't use your skills frequently, they're easy to forget. That's why, when you take our first aid certification classes, you'll also receive free online access to our first aid refreshers and a printable list of the basic steps for performing first aid. This way, you can practice your skills regularly, and keep reminders in the places you might need them most, like in the first aid kit in your car, home, or desk.

Really integral to have the In-Person training!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.StayingAlive256 days agoThe online course was pretty comprehensive definitely a necessary precursor to the in person learning as it made you memorize all the steps and procedures. There were a few things that weren't mentioned/ or quizzed on before they had been taught. But overall engaging. The In-Person learning was really the most impactful thing. Our instructor Rea was incredible and really helped you use all that memorized theory knowledge and put it to practical use! They even judged and helped improve ... techniques and used many real world scenarios to help you visualize how & when you'd use these skills. Without the in person learning, this training wouldn't have been useable for me just theory that I would have forgotten.

I was able to retain a lot of the information as well to apply it for future insuations. I would recommend this instructor for future training.Thank you, Ms.Yadira.

Great Class but Slightly Strange Format
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Nicole44813 years agoThe class was great and they fit a lot of information into a short amount of time. I felt a lot more confident in my knowledge and abilities after the class. My only issue with the class is that I took the Adult First Aid/CPR/AED class but the in-person skills class also included the children's section so I had to sit through some information that I wasn't getting certified for. It wasn't a big deal but it seems like they should have put that information at the end so those who didn't need that ... information could leave early.

Just what I needed
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.QIZU3 years agoI'm required to stay up-to-date on certification in AED/CPR/FA for my job, and since my job wasn't allowed to do our normal in-person trainings this year due to COVID, we were all on our own. The online class followed by the 1-year provisional in-person class ended up being perfect for me. Everything I needed to review was covered, and in a way I could easily understand. The instructor for the in-person class was a little cranky at first, but it was early in the morning, so no judgement. He ... ended up covering everything we needed to know very professionally once we actually got started.

Very good class

Having the extra in-class portion really helped explaining things I had questions on from watching online videos. With class being only a few people, it allowed the instructor to get more in depth with us instead of any one person hiding in back of class just to pass.

Not only did he review all of the important practices but he taught us why what we were doing mattered and how our actions affect the body and save lives. I walked away feeling even more confident in my ability to help in case of an emergency. He had great energy, sprinkled in humor, and redirected incorrect techniques with kindness. I'd take a full day training with him if I had to. Thank you Etienne.

Wonderful Class!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Chad12773 years agoThis class went very well. Jennifer White, the instructor, did an amazing job teaching the course. She is very knowledgeable and represents The American Red Cross well. This was with fifth time taking a CRP/AED/First Aid course and this was for sure my favorite class. It was my first time taking it through the American Red Cross. I learned many new things throughout this class. I also took a First Aid for Opioid Overdose class online a few days after this class and was also very pleased. I plan ... to take one or two more online courses. I help with first aid at my church and I now feel I am more prepared in the event of a medical emergency.

Really informative
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.MH283 years agoI did the adult and infant CPR/first aid/AED class. I was nervous to go because I have zero experience with any of those things. By the end of the class I had not only gained a lot of information but had practiced a lot of the skills and felt confident that I would be able to help in an emergency situation. The instructor also informed the class about an app that we can use to keep up on our skills which is also really helpful. Overall, I'm very happy that I went to the class.

This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Transition14 years agoI was pleasantly surprised I enjoyed my Pediatric First Aid and CPR class. I leaned a lot and was surprised what I thought I knew about burns was wrong. The instructor was amazing full of knowledge and energy, she actually made the class fun, exciting and learning easy. I know for a fact I can give CPR AND FIRST AID TO AN ADULT OR CHILD WHICH COULD RESULT IN SAVING A LIFE! Thank you Catina!
