Performing First Aid
At the Red Cross, first aid training prepares you to provide care to children, adults, and pets during times of crisis. However, like many things, if you don't use your skills frequently, they're easy to forget. That's why, when you take our first aid certification classes, you'll also receive free online access to our first aid refreshers and a printable list of the basic steps for performing first aid. This way, you can practice your skills regularly, and keep reminders in the places you might need them most, like in the first aid kit in your car, home, or desk.

Wonderful Class!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Chad12773 years agoThis class went very well. Jennifer White, the instructor, did an amazing job teaching the course. She is very knowledgeable and represents The American Red Cross well. This was with fifth time taking a CRP/AED/First Aid course and this was for sure my favorite class. It was my first time taking it through the American Red Cross. I learned many new things throughout this class. I also took a First Aid for Opioid Overdose class online a few days after this class and was also very pleased. I plan ... to take one or two more online courses. I help with first aid at my church and I now feel I am more prepared in the event of a medical emergency.

Of the two instructors I've had, this instructor, Melanie, was by far the best. She was engaging and interactive. She kept us entertaining and encouraged participation. She was open to question and answered them very well. I love that she provided her own experiences as well. Additionally, she provided a pretty good explanation of why certain steps are taken based on physiological principles. I have my PhD physiology ... and neuroscience, and the way she explained why processes are implemented in a certain way really helped us remember the content.

Good, not outstanding.
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.CPR11111112 weeks agoClass was effective as a refresher, but could be improved on. The in-person component involved more videos, which I didn't really appreciate as we had already gone through several hours of videos for the online component. Also, a first-aid class like this NEEDS to at least mention Narcan. It is life-saving, and is quick to train.

Quick course and donation site!

This class thankfully was open. The instructor kept a good pace. Enjoyable to work on the mannequins. Feel more comfortable with the skill set now. I even gave blood afterwards!

I have learned so much taking these classes & would highly recommend first aid, cpr, & aed training to everyone. Life comes fast & anything can happen at any moment your training could be the difference of life & death.

Serious enough to let us know how important this life saving training is and funny enough to keep the whole team engaged. I learned a lot in this session and having the app available for later usage is awesome. I have seen trainings in the past from other organizations that made it difficult to stay awake. This was a great use of time.

Gerald made the class engaging and allowed time for the other professionals in my course to network and share our experiences and knowledge with one another. It was the first time it did not feel like a long day.

I was able to retain a lot of the information as well to apply it for future insuations. I would recommend this instructor for future training.Thank you, Ms.Yadira.

Just what I needed
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.QIZU3 years agoI'm required to stay up-to-date on certification in AED/CPR/FA for my job, and since my job wasn't allowed to do our normal in-person trainings this year due to COVID, we were all on our own. The online class followed by the 1-year provisional in-person class ended up being perfect for me. Everything I needed to review was covered, and in a way I could easily understand. The instructor for the in-person class was a little cranky at first, but it was early in the morning, so no judgement. He ... ended up covering everything we needed to know very professionally once we actually got started.

In order to recertify in time, I registered for the online class. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was impressed. The "Missions" were well done, and I was able to watch them a second time for reinforcement. I then went for my in-person skills testing. My instructor was great. She reviewed the highlights and ran us through a practice run before we tested. I am happy to recommend this class.
