First Aid Training
Whether you take an instructor-led class, an online course, or take advantage of our blended learning experience, which combines online coursework with instructor-led training, you'll learn from some of the best in the industry. Knowledgeable, understanding and able to deliver information suited to a wide range of learning styles, American Red Cross first aid instructors will help ensure that you not only understand the steps for performing first aid, but that you have the confidence and skills necessary to perform them correctly.

Performing First Aid
At the Red Cross, first aid training prepares you to provide care to children, adults, and pets during times of crisis. However, like many things, if you don't use your skills frequently, they're easy to forget. That's why, when you take our first aid certification classes, you'll also receive free online access to our first aid refreshers and a printable list of the basic steps for performing first aid. This way, you can practice your skills regularly, and keep reminders in the places you might need them most, like in the first aid kit in your car, home, or desk.

Made me want to keep learning and practicing
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.GSCa3 years agoThe online portion was a little glitchy at times, but the organization was stepped well, required increasing autonomy to internalize skills while keeping a good amount of support/scaffolding, and in general felt like people who were good instructors designed it. The sections were a good length. The in-person instructor, Randy, was excellent. To the point but also patient, used humor well, and I felt set a high bar for himself and the class while also being extremely supportive. I was actually ... a little disappointed to leave and would like to take further training with him.

First Aid/AED/CPR course
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars. One Eye Dog3 years agoMy husband and I recently attended the above course given by the Red Cross in St Petersburg, FL. Our instructor was terrific, articulate and extremely knowledgeable. He shared the information quickly in a manner that made time fly. Our day began at 9:00 am and ended at 3:00 p.m. including a lunch break. We had our certificates of completion before we even made it home! We also live on a power catamaran and cruise full time. Having the appropriate first aid tools are vital. We knew most ... of the information, but learned better techniques on how to apply our knowledge.

Mostly excellent training.
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.Stefen2 days agoThe instructor was fully informed and explained procedures well. I had thought that I was signed up for pediatric but, this did not show up in his records so, I was not able to include it in my training.

Excellent instructor
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Kristel3 years agoThis is my second time taking the Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course. Of the two instructors I've had, this instructor, Melanie, was by far the best. She was engaging and interactive. She kept us entertaining and encouraged participation. She was open to question and answered them very well. I love that she provided her own experiences as well. Additionally, she provided a pretty good explanation of why certain steps are taken based on physiological principles. I have my PhD physiology ... and neuroscience, and the way she explained why processes are implemented in a certain way really helped us remember the content.

Really informative
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.MH283 years agoI did the adult and infant CPR/first aid/AED class. I was nervous to go because I have zero experience with any of those things. By the end of the class I had not only gained a lot of information but had practiced a lot of the skills and felt confident that I would be able to help in an emergency situation. The instructor also informed the class about an app that we can use to keep up on our skills which is also really helpful. Overall, I'm very happy that I went to the class.

Excellent instructor
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Lasher35 years agoI have taken this course a total of 15 times in my 30-year career as an early childhood educator. Gerald made the class engaging and allowed time for the other professionals in my course to network and share our experiences and knowledge with one another. It was the first time it did not feel like a long day.

In person was excellent, online part was confusing
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.VWbeetleMom3 days agoThe in person portion of the class was excellent! The instructor was friendly and helpful. Their directions were clear and concise, making it extremely easy to follow and succeed. The online portion was confusing. It took me many times to get everything correct so it showed up that I had actually completed the online portion.

Great teaching
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.sice1 month agoI really appreciated the blended learning. I was able to learn the book work at my pace and review it thoroughly before going in to demonstrate the technique. I also really liked that our instructor had real world experience with all of the material and was able to help us think through scenarios where the ideal environment presented in the training videos weren't available (e.g., there is no chair to sit in to give an infant the required back blows and chest compressions or how to help someone ... larger and taller than you.)

Amazing knowledgeable instructor great teaching
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Janelis1 month agoI’ve been to at least four other first aid CPR trainings and this is the best one yet. I’m not great with names but I have to say that the teacher was excellent she had a great personality and made everyone feel Comfortable as well as having great knowledge of every subject she taught with ease and the hands on training which I believe is a lot more effective than just talking the whole time or watching a video I definitely would recommend it no matter how Far I went To get this training it was worth it!

Great and informative class
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.dmr8882 weeks agoTook a similar class two years from another organization and decided for my recertification to go through American Red Cross. Found it more informative, more hands on and will be back for refresher in two years. Instructor was an added bonus and engaged everyone during out class.
