First Aid Training
Whether you take an instructor-led class, an online course, or take advantage of our blended learning experience, which combines online coursework with instructor-led training, you'll learn from some of the best in the industry. Knowledgeable, understanding and able to deliver information suited to a wide range of learning styles, American Red Cross first aid instructors will help ensure that you not only understand the steps for performing first aid, but that you have the confidence and skills necessary to perform them correctly.

Performing First Aid
At the Red Cross, first aid training prepares you to provide care to children, adults, and pets during times of crisis. However, like many things, if you don't use your skills frequently, they're easy to forget. That's why, when you take our first aid certification classes, you'll also receive free online access to our first aid refreshers and a printable list of the basic steps for performing first aid. This way, you can practice your skills regularly, and keep reminders in the places you might need them most, like in the first aid kit in your car, home, or desk.

Love the Blended Learning option!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.NicoleL3 years agoI had never taken a partially online/in person CPR/First Aid training prior to this course. What I needed refreshers on was easily explained via the online portion but the skills in person portion was the best part. The instructor gave awesome scenarios of potential situations to assist participants not only skill building, but also how we may react quickly in a real situation. Highly recommend this course and the instructor!

Wonderful Class!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Chad12773 years agoThis class went very well. Jennifer White, the instructor, did an amazing job teaching the course. She is very knowledgeable and represents The American Red Cross well. This was with fifth time taking a CRP/AED/First Aid course and this was for sure my favorite class. It was my first time taking it through the American Red Cross. I learned many new things throughout this class. I also took a First Aid for Opioid Overdose class online a few days after this class and was also very pleased. I plan ... to take one or two more online courses. I help with first aid at my church and I now feel I am more prepared in the event of a medical emergency.

Comprehensive and Engaging First Aid & CPR Trainin
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Mai B2 months agoI appreciate the option splitting training with online and in-person training. The online training was user-friendly and helped me visually understand life-saving steps. Jessica, the instructor, was outstanding—she thoroughly explained each section and was very hands-on. Her teaching style was both informative and motivating, boosting my confidence in administering first aid and CPR. I also liked how she identified individual weaknesses and had us work in groups, making the learning experience ... more personalized and effective.

Excellent instructor
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Lasher35 years agoI have taken this course a total of 15 times in my 30-year career as an early childhood educator. Gerald made the class engaging and allowed time for the other professionals in my course to network and share our experiences and knowledge with one another. It was the first time it did not feel like a long day.

Helpful Skills
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.Chris9862 weeks agoWhile the course material were great, i think I would have liked more hands on expeience with the practice dummies practicing cpr. I felt like i wasnt doing the compressions fast enough. I think more needs to be done when it comes to practicing cpr. If youre going to do cpr, then you have to be confident in it.

This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.dmr8883 weeks agoTook a similar class two years from another organization and decided for my recertification to go through American Red Cross. Found it more informative, more hands on and will be back for refresher in two years. Instructor was an added bonus and engaged everyone during out class.

Great Class but Slightly Strange Format
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Nicole44813 years agoThe class was great and they fit a lot of information into a short amount of time. I felt a lot more confident in my knowledge and abilities after the class. My only issue with the class is that I took the Adult First Aid/CPR/AED class but the in-person skills class also included the children's section so I had to sit through some information that I wasn't getting certified for. It wasn't a big deal but it seems like they should have put that information at the end so those who didn't need that ... information could leave early.

First Aid/AED/CPR course
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars. One Eye Dog3 years agoMy husband and I recently attended the above course given by the Red Cross in St Petersburg, FL. Our instructor was terrific, articulate and extremely knowledgeable. He shared the information quickly in a manner that made time fly. Our day began at 9:00 am and ended at 3:00 p.m. including a lunch break. We had our certificates of completion before we even made it home! We also live on a power catamaran and cruise full time. Having the appropriate first aid tools are vital. We knew most ... of the information, but learned better techniques on how to apply our knowledge.

Great Red Cross Training
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.JBVJ3 days agoThe enrollment process was facilitating and the person who handled my change in schedule was extremely helpful and professional. The online portion of the training was well done. The presentations were sequential, informative, and comprehensive. I appreciated the features of unlimited time, pre-testing, and review. Our in-person trainer was competent, on task, and humorous. She summarized procedures succinctly and offered practically recommendations. She made the class fun.

Great teaching
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.sice1 month agoI really appreciated the blended learning. I was able to learn the book work at my pace and review it thoroughly before going in to demonstrate the technique. I also really liked that our instructor had real world experience with all of the material and was able to help us think through scenarios where the ideal environment presented in the training videos weren't available (e.g., there is no chair to sit in to give an infant the required back blows and chest compressions or how to help someone ... larger and taller than you.)
