Easy Bridging to Become
a Red Cross Instructor
Do you or your Instructors, Instructor Trainers and/or Training Center Faculty hold a current Instructor certification from a comparable training organization such as the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Health & Safety Institute (HSI)? If so, it’s easy to bridge to American Red Cross training courses.
1. Register for the appropriate bridge.
2. Fill out the online form and submit it with the required credentials.
3. Review program materials for the course.
4. Take the free online Instructor bridge course. No in-person class is required.

Easy Crossover or Reentry Courses to become a Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor
Do you have Instructors and/or Instructor Trainers certified with another equivalent training program and interested in teaching Red Cross Lifeguarding Programs? It’s easy to get trained by completing an abbreviated blended learning crossover course designed for Instructors to achieve Red Cross instructor certification to teach. For more information, visit the Instructor Candidates Page on the Red Cross Learning Center.
If you are unable to find a course in your area, please reach out to your local aquatic facility.

Great class but lengthy for a bridge
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.MissK3 months agoI actually thought the content was very thorough. The videos were helpful, the way they demonstrated different instructional concepts. I also thought the videos where you had to pick out what the student was doing wrong in the skills checks were great. The one criticism I would have is that I feel like it could be shorter for a bridge. By definition these are people who are already instructors with another agency and have aleady taken an instructor course and likely are teaching. The ... content is excellent and I think for a brand new instructor it would be excellent.

Great class, enjoyed it
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.ethandclark5 years agoWanted something a little more in depth on first aid items, I know this is not a first aid class but it made me look up some things in the course book and gained me knowledge for sure. I feel more prepared to perform first aid as well as teach it now.

Holly was such a great instructor trainer! I feel like she really went above and beyond to give us great tips and tricks to use directly in the classroom to make the in class portion of training much more efficient and useful! She did a great job giving corrective criticism as well as commending us for things we did correctly!

Glad I took the class, ready to instruct
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Koontzie2 weeks agoKallee did an excellent job reviewing information and guiding us as needed. She made sure we are setup to go out and instruct with success. Instructor class over all very good and knowledgeable. I don’t know if it’s just me or the amount of emails or their message, but I felt it was a test, but it is more a workshop and assessment. Review materials, but not necessary to memorize.
