In early July 2025, catastrophic flooding claimed lives, destroyed homes and businesses, and disrupted communities across central Texas.  The American Red Cross provided shelter, food, relief supplies, and comfort to disaster survivors, as well as financial assistance to severely affected households.   

Thanks to our generous donors, the Red Cross is supporting Long-Term Recovery efforts in affected areas through strategic grants to nonprofit organizations providing vital recovery services. Grants are dedicated to funding organizations and projects that assist the most vulnerable individuals, households and communities in their long-term recovery and resiliency activities.  

Using a Request for Proposal (RFP) process, the Red Cross 2025 Texas Floods Long-Term Recovery Program is focusing its funding in two areas of need: 
 

• Housing Stability: Bringing flood-impacted homes to safe, habitable and sustainable standards for communities with the fewest recovery resources.
• Mental Health and Wellness: Addressing the effects of disaster-caused trauma on individuals and communities.

Note: Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis to meet evolving community needs. Check this page for updates on our program through July 2027.
