The Red Cross Helps People and Communities in Need
24 Hours a Day, 365 Days a Year
Nearly 20,000 people receive assistance from the Red Cross every day. We don’t know who will need our help today, or where we will need to go tomorrow. Your gift to “Where It’s Needed Most” gives us the flexibility to respond whenever and wherever we’re needed.
Each year, we collect nearly 4.5 million blood donations and more than 1 million platelet donations from more than 2.3 million volunteer donors.
Train & equip our volunteer workforce
Last year, approximately 275,000 people volunteered their time at blood drives, smoke alarm installation events, emergency shelters, and more.
Support military families and veterans
Each day, we provide nearly 1,500 services to members of the military, veterans, and their families through our Hero Care Network.
Help families & communities become more resilient
On average, nearly 13,000 people each day receive lifesaving Red Cross training and information.
The Red Cross mission is to prevent and relieve human suffering. And as the world’s largest humanitarian organization, we are able to use your donation to reach more people in need, more quickly. Sometimes that means helping a family after a home fire, or an entire community after a large disaster, or supporting those who defend our freedoms and their loved ones at home. The only constant is the need to be ready when we’re needed. Your support enables us to bring help and hope.
