Training Confident and Capable Caregivers

Taking a Babysitting Class
The American Red Cross is the nation’s leader in babysitting classes and child care training – and will prepare you to become one of the most capable, trusted and confident caregivers in your community. In fact, 8 in 10 surveyed parents said they would pay more for a trained babysitter who holds Red Cross babysitting certifications. You can also opt to get certified in First Aid and CPR/AED, and add even more value to your clients.

Babysitting & Child Care Courses
Red Cross babysitting and child care courses can help you provide quality care to children of all ages. Developed by experts in the industry , our online and in-person courses are available to those ages 11 and older, and include topics such as choosing age-appropriate activities, basic child care, like feeding, child behavior, diapering, picking up a child safely, and more.
Please note: Red Cross child care courses are not intended for those seeking certification for state-licensed child care providers and does not meet all state requirements for such certification.

Good class but missing some vital info
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.LuluH6 years agoMy daughter took this class. She thought it was good info and enjoyed it. That said, she was disappointed there is no CPR aspect (as I believe there was in the past?) because she really wants to learn that as well. I don't see any non-certification CPR classes available through American Red Cross that seem to fit the bill for this kind of thing. This seems like vital info that is missing if someone is interested in babysitting, particularly since there doesn't appear to be another class that ... fills in that gap without full certification which seems excessive for a 12 year old.

Great Training!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.dolphin2531 year agoI was looking for a babysitting class that was well rated about a month ago. Lots of people had recommended Red Cross, so I signed up. I got all of the knowledge that I had wanted. I loved that they gave out guidebooks, so I could have a review of all the content later. For you guys who are thinking of signing up; a kid in my class thought that there was CPR training involved, but there wasn't. Evidently there used to be, but there isn't anymore. So just in case you want that, maybe this ... class isn't for you. But in general, this is an awsome course.

I learned a lot
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Madita92834 weeks agoIt was part of my au pair training and I really liked it. Especially I liked the interaction scenes where possible situations happened and you had to decide what you would do. It was really helpful and I enjoyed it a lot.

Great Integrity and Knowledge
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.siebie3 days agothis product really did what it advertised. I learned a lot and I’m really glad I have this knowledge to help in my career this summer. I’m 16 with little experience with kids but this course makes me feel so much more prepared and ready to care! I do feel that some of it was basic common sense but I’m glad they still covered it for some people.
