CPR Training with Red Cross

Awesome Instructor!

I attended the Skills Session on January 24th in Minneapolis. The instructor was phenomenal! He went above and beyond just the skills and explained in detail WHY things are done the way they are. It was also helpful that he had real-world experience in the medical field and has been emergency situations. I was required to attend this training for my job and was not enthused about going, however, it turned out to be extremely interesting and I would recommend this training to anyone!

Just what I needed

I'm required to stay up-to-date on certification in AED/CPR/FA for my job, and since my job wasn't allowed to do our normal in-person trainings this year due to COVID, we were all on our own. By far the most memorable training!

I’ve had to keep up CPR training for several years for work, but this was my first time using Red Cross - and I will never use a different source for training now! The online course was so repetitive, while placing you in many different realistic scenarios - and the interactive course trainer was so personable and made sure all students were worked with individually. This has been the first course that I feel remarkably confident that I can remember every vital step in an emergency scenario!

Great foundation to understand the techniques

I found the pre-work online portion to be very useful. It was detailed, interactive and really taught the techniques well. Once we got in person, it made the hands on portion much easier and solidified the knowledge well. My only negative about the course was that, while the instructor was good, he had an incredibly strong accent that made it difficult to understand a lot of what was being talked about. If I hadn't done the pre-work, I would not have understood much.

Informative and Helpful

I needed First Aid/CPR/AED training for work and decided to go to the Red Cross. The registration and overall process was easy and convenient. The class was informative and helpful. Drew, the instructor, did a great job answering my questions as well as others' questions. I feel prepared and am ready for an emergency situation, if needs be. Highly recommend.

Heavy Perfume Use Spoiled a Good Class

The class was informative and I learned a lot. However, there was an unfortunate issue with use of heavy perfume by some participants that irritated my sinuses. The room was poorly ventilated and I was not allowed to sit by the door because I would not be able to see the videos from there. Can Red Cross suggest to participants to refrain from using fragrance in consideration of the respiratory health of the other participants?

Great experience

I had no clue what to experience. The instructor was professional, gloves, masks and hand sanitizer were provided as well as individual dummies for everyone enrolled. I was only there for the CPR/AED session, so I didn't get to experience the First Aid course, but the experience was great. It kept my attention, the slides and videos were quick and engaging. I really liked the hands-on portion. I will definitely take this course again in 2 years and look forward to it.

Great learning experience!

For a very easy to understand and engaging way to gain CPR/AED skills, I would recommend the Red Cross class I just took. The online components were not just boring videos but repetitive practice of the most important skills when providing assistance in an emergency.
