Performing First Aid
At the Red Cross, first aid training prepares you to provide care to children, adults, and pets during times of crisis. However, like many things, if you don't use your skills frequently, they're easy to forget. That's why, when you take our first aid certification classes, you'll also receive free online access to our first aid refreshers and a printable list of the basic steps for performing first aid. This way, you can practice your skills regularly, and keep reminders in the places you might need them most, like in the first aid kit in your car, home, or desk.

I had fun learning!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Blessed ONe2 weeks agoI was able to get into a class at the last minute. I was nervous at first because I know how important the info is and I really needed to pass. The instructer was very nice and made sure we understood our assignments. We practiced what we learned and that helped us to remember the information that was giving. Thank you I feel a lot more prepared for an emergency than I did before.

This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Abbey Road2 weeks agoI needed recertification for my acupuncture licensing application and found a class that was being held near my home the same day I searched. I was able to complete the online training and drive to the skills class all in one day. My teacher was super knowledgeable, funny, kind and engaging. I think his name was Daryl but I’m not sure. He trains lifeguards and made the class useful and enjoyable.

I have previously been a CPR instructor and been CPR certified and I believe this is the most entertaining and informative class I have ever taken through the Red Cross. I also appreciate how much safety was emphasised during the class as we are still in a pandemic. The fact that the ARC as a whole and the instructor individually were clear about taking that seriously is something that I am very grateful for. It ... was a very good experience over all.

Of the two instructors I've had, this instructor, Melanie, was by far the best. She was engaging and interactive. She kept us entertaining and encouraged participation. She was open to question and answered them very well. I love that she provided her own experiences as well. Additionally, she provided a pretty good explanation of why certain steps are taken based on physiological principles. I have my PhD physiology ... and neuroscience, and the way she explained why processes are implemented in a certain way really helped us remember the content.

Gerald made the class engaging and allowed time for the other professionals in my course to network and share our experiences and knowledge with one another. It was the first time it did not feel like a long day.

Awesome Instructor!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.A aron 753 years agoI attended the Skills Session on January 24th in Minneapolis. The instructor was phenomenal! He went above and beyond just the skills and explained in detail WHY things are done the way they are. It was also helpful that he had real-world experience in the medical field and has been emergency situations. I was required to attend this training for my job and was not enthused about going, however, it turned out to be extremely interesting and I would recommend this training to anyone!

This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.QIZU4 years agoI'm required to stay up-to-date on certification in AED/CPR/FA for my job, and since my job wasn't allowed to do our normal in-person trainings this year due to COVID, we were all on our own. The online class followed by the 1-year provisional in-person class ended up being perfect for me. Everything I needed to review was covered, and in a way I could easily understand. The instructor for the in-person class was a little cranky at first, but it was early in the morning, so no judgement. He ... ended up covering everything we needed to know very professionally once we actually got started.

Great Instructor Ever!

He was thorough, smart, witty, funny, put us at ease, professional. As an older gentleman, he gave us also some good" life gem" advice/ lessons as a bonus. My bad, I forgot his name. I'll never forget what a great, inspiring instructor he has been! Thank you very much Sir, and God bless you!

I attended the Adult First Aid/CPR/AED-BL-r.21 class in June and it was a great re-certification experience. Siri was a great instructor and she kept the class lively and interesting. The class runs long (it has for all 3 of my re-certifications) so plan for an extra 15-30 minutes depending on questions.
