Easy Bridging to Become
a Red Cross Instructor
Do you or your Instructors, Instructor Trainers and/or Training Center Faculty hold a current Instructor certification from a comparable training organization such as the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Health & Safety Institute (HSI)? If so, it’s easy to bridge to American Red Cross training courses.
1. Register for the appropriate bridge.
2. Fill out the online form and submit it with the required credentials.
3. Review program materials for the course.
4. Take the free online Instructor bridge course. No in-person class is required.

Easy Crossover or Reentry Courses to become a Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor
Do you have Instructors and/or Instructor Trainers certified with another equivalent training program and interested in teaching Red Cross Lifeguarding Programs? It’s easy to get trained by completing an abbreviated blended learning crossover course designed for Instructors to achieve Red Cross instructor certification to teach. For more information, visit the Instructor Candidates Page on the Red Cross Learning Center.
If you are unable to find a course in your area, please reach out to your local aquatic facility.

EMR Instructor Bridge-online
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.MedicE404 years agoOur company is thinking about training some of our officers to be EMRs to assist our EMTs. I enjoy instructing and this gives us the ability to train in-house. The ability to take this course on-line is very convenient.

Was confusing at first
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.mzcheryl5 years agoGetting started is a little tedious but once you get going it is ok. It took me a week between credential upload to take the class as i was waiting for a go ahead email. I finally went into the website and discovered that my credentials were good and i could take the class. Uploading credentials for every class you want to take is kind of a pain in the butt. Don't try to start anything just before a holiday weekend. I work weekend so i thought it was perfect time to get started, not. Uploaded ... certification Thursday evening and had to wait until Tuesday to be approved. Website stated Monday the holiday closed but nothing about Friday. I was dissapointed.

Shawna was great
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.TomLa4 years agoIn today's COVID environment, holding in person training is difficult. Shawna managed to put it together wonderfully and in a way it was easy to follow and understand. She's a great instructor.

Great experience/ More time needed
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.MC 20253 weeks agoThe course was very informative. The instructor was very knowledgeable and had 20+ years experience. I reviewed all materials prior to the class which definitely helped. At times it it was difficult to understand what the instructor was trying to have with us perform. Perhaps a demo video of their expectations would’ve been helpful. We were expected to use our lunchtime to prepare for our teaching presentation, which many of us did not know how to do until we observed the first presenter. Class ... went over by 20 minutes. The administration part of the course was quickly reviewed and wished we would’ve spent more time on that portion but overall it was a great class and would recommend it.

Great instructor
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.CynB3 weeks agoThe emails that arrived towards the end before the class, had lists of things that we needed to bring to class. It was annoying that they added two more things a week before the class and come to find out we didn't need them. More money was spent that didn't need to happen. Also, I tried to use the chat option to help me since the office was closed. The chat kept giving me a new number and ignored the fact I had a number already for the same problem I was having. And secondly, chat people were ... hanging up on me. Not sure if they were just getting off or what, but I was on it for a length of time and my problem was never solved.
