Jessica signed up to fundraise and become a Red Cross Spartan. She shares her reasoning for committing to the Red Cross below:
"My husband is in the Navy and Red Cross does so much to help support our troops and their families. I love raising money for causes that are close to my heart. In addition, my Grandparents have been active Red Cross volunteers for 30+ years. My grandma has responded and been on the front lines to many disasters- including Hurricane Katrina. I wanted to do my part in raising money for a great organization and run the Spartan Race to show my support and appreciation for the Organization and all the Volunteers."
"I chose the American Red Cross, as it is an organization I've been donating to for over 15 years...Raising money for the American Red Cross allows them to further their mission and continue their great work! I've found that being passionate about what I'm doing and reaching out personally to my friends and family has been the most effective. I texted and emailed them with genuine messages about the cause and my race. The support followed soon after."
