We hear a lot about self-care, but what does it really mean in the midst of a busy, often unpredictable life? Is it a spa day, five minutes of quiet, or just managing to eat lunch before 3PM? With so many demands on our time and energy, self-care can start to feel like just another item on the to-do list.
If you’re looking to rethink what self-care actually looks like for you in a way that’s practical, achievable, and meaningful, this session is for you.
Join Veteran Spouse Network Peer Leaders for a thoughtful and supportive conversation about reconnecting with your own needs. Together with fellow military and veteran spouses and partners, you’ll explore what self-care can look like in real life and learn simple, sustainable strategies to care for yourself in ways that feel right for you. You’ll also get a sneak peek into the Veteran Spouse Resiliency Group (V-SRG), a program designed to foster connection, personal growth, and resilience.

Art isn’t just creative—it’s connective. When words fall short, it becomes a powerful bridge between emotion and expression. Trauma impacts the brain, body, and spirit, and in those moments when words fall short, art can be a powerful tool for healing. This session explores how creative expression can be a meaningful part of an integrative healing journey.
Led by Veteran Spouse Network Peer Leader and certified First Aid Arts facilitator, Tanya Mac, this interactive session offers hands-on, arts-based techniques to support your personal growth and resilience. You’ll learn how trauma shows up in the body, how the arts can help, and leave with simple, meaningful tools to respond to stress—no art experience required.
