Rated 1 out of 5 by AngelaR from Poor Quality I would never have bought 6 AED trainers (labeled with the Red Cross brand) had I known that the training PADS would be of such poor quality. When brand new, the pads are so sticky that they tear when students remove.... if used even a couple times, they don't stick at all (the wires are too stiff, and the wires come off altogether from the pads). FORGET ABOUT Lifeguard training classes.... once these pads get even the slightest moisture, they are trashed. They are so substandard that they really become a distraction for the students.... the students become so focused on proper placement, tearing when they try to correct/remove, repeatedly pressing down to try and restick, etc..... way too distracting for the students, very frustrating and bit embarrassing for the instructor (again, these training units bear the Red Cross logo on them!) I'm investing in the Phillips trainers and training pads.... much more expensive, but that equipment performed without fail for me for several years (when inevitably with LGT, you gotta replace training gear because of the heavy wear and tear).

Rated 1 out of 5 by Steve321 from Poor quality pads Red Cross, Please consider reviewing the materials used in constructing these pads. I have no issues with the AED trainer per se. It works as advertised. But the quality of the pads are substandard. I am very disappointed that the Red Cross would allow these pads to be used for training. I conduct 4 to 5 BLS classes per month. As it stands, I am having to replace the pads monthly. This is unacceptable. If i had known the pads were such low quality i would not have purchased these AED's. Although, I have had the pads tear in half, I have accepted this as wear from abuse. But having the cord become unattached from the pad itself is a quality issue due to the cord being so inflexible. The adhesive lasts approximately one month for my use. The last thing i want my students to worry about is the pads not sticking or fumbling with the cord. I constantly have students get distracted with these issues. I do not want to purchase different AED 's just because of the quality of the pads.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Aish123 from Pads are too Weak These pads need to be replaced way too often, once you have bought the Red Cross AEDs no other pads & connectors are compatible. I would recommend that the American Red Cross look into changing the material of these pads.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Susi from Cord is too stiff and pads don't last We've used these products for years due to buying the AED trainers.... Both products are sub-par and wish we had bought different brand but are now stuck with the products and preplacement products due to how much we invested initially! The cords are too stiff and the students spend so much time trying to get them to straighten out before putting pads on. There are other companies that make a more pliable cord that work much better. Also, the sticky backs either stick so much they get stuck and rip, or they don't stick after just a few uses. The students constantly mess with them, instead of just listening to the AED prompts because they are so worried about them not sticking/moving. AND, I highly suggest asking and reminding your students to NOT pull from the cord directly, or they end up pulling the cord completely separating it from the hard yellow piece that innitiates the "analyzing, do not touch the patient," prompt.
