Why Take an AED Class?
Save Time and Money. Personalized, Flexible Learning.

AED Training
The American Red Cross delivers best-in-class training online and in hundreds of locations across the country. With instructors who have the latest science-backed information, as well as the knowledge and skills needed to teach you how to save a life – no matter what your learning style may be – we can help you receive AED certification, as well as the confidence to provide care when it's needed most.

Using an AED
Being able to provide help to anyone at any time is a powerful thing. That's why, at the Red Cross, AED classes are designed to teach you how to use an automated external defibrillator on both kids and adults. This way, you can provide care - no matter where you are or who the "patient" may be. Unfortunately, unless you take actions to retain your skills, you're likely to forget how and when to use an AED. So, to help you stay prepared we offer online refresher materials that allow you to test your skills as often as you'd like. We also provide you with access to a printable list of the basic steps for using an AED that you can keep at your desk, in your first aid kit, and more - and review them at any time.

By far the most memorable training!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Hadrey6 years agoI’ve had to keep up CPR training for several years for work, but this was my first time using Red Cross - and I will never use a different source for training now! The online course was so repetitive, while placing you in many different realistic scenarios - and the interactive course trainer was so personable and made sure all students were worked with individually. This has been the first course that I feel remarkably confident that I can remember every vital step in an emergency scenario!

Efficient and Engaging
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Alana4415 years agoThe adult and pediatric CPR/AED-BL course was a great experience. The interactive and informative online portion that I completed made me more comfortable and confident with the necessary information prior to attending the in person session. The instructor was extremely educated on the topic and answered all questions we had. Her humor and questions made the course more engaging than a typical CPR course. The CPR mouth covering keychain we received at the end was also a plus that I appreciated, ... especially during a pandemic.

Great learning experience!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.CoachChelsea4 years agoFor a very easy to understand and engaging way to gain CPR/AED skills, I would recommend the Red Cross class I just took. The online components were not just boring videos but repetitive practice of the most important skills when providing assistance in an emergency. The in-person skills practice followed all the safe practices for covid prevention while still allowing for real practice of skills using dummies and tools like the practice AED. I left feeling confident that I can provide quality ... care in the event of an emergency!

Insightful and practical training
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.PhilipR564 years agoI learned a lot from this training. I hope that I am not required to use the training but I feel confident that if the need arises I am much better prepared than I was to help. I discovered that I didn't know the basics for example when to and when not to use CPR. I found the Check Call Care approach logical and I am sure it has saved lives. And the SAMPLE checklist is very helpful. There is a lot to remember from this short course. Our instructor was wonderful - patient and professional.

Awesome Instructor!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.A aron 753 years agoI attended the Skills Session on January 24th in Minneapolis. The instructor was phenomenal! He went above and beyond just the skills and explained in detail WHY things are done the way they are. It was also helpful that he had real-world experience in the medical field and has been emergency situations. I was required to attend this training for my job and was not enthused about going, however, it turned out to be extremely interesting and I would recommend this training to anyone!

Great Class but Slightly Strange Format
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Nicole44813 years agoThe class was great and they fit a lot of information into a short amount of time. I felt a lot more confident in my knowledge and abilities after the class. My only issue with the class is that I took the Adult First Aid/CPR/AED class but the in-person skills class also included the children's section so I had to sit through some information that I wasn't getting certified for. It wasn't a big deal but it seems like they should have put that information at the end so those who didn't need that ... information could leave early.
