Training Confident and Capable Caregivers

Taking a Babysitting Class
The American Red Cross is the nation’s leader in babysitting classes and child care training – and will prepare you to become one of the most capable, trusted and confident caregivers in your community. You can also opt to get certified in First Aid and CPR/AED, and add even more value to your clients.

Working with children course
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Anonymous1 month agoI recently completed the Red Cross training focused on working with children and found it to be highly valuable. The course provided clear, practical guidance on child safety, basic first aid, and age-appropriate emergency responses. It emphasized not only physical care but also the emotional well-being of children in crisis situations. The materials were well-organized and easy to follow, with real-life scenarios and interactive elements that made learning more engaging. The instructors were ... knowledgeable and supportive, always open to questions and providing useful insights based on experience. I would highly recommend this course to anyone planning to work with or care for children, whether in a professional or volunteer setting. It offers essential skills and confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations involving children.

Great Integrity and Knowledge
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.siebie2 weeks agothis product really did what it advertised. I learned a lot and I’m really glad I have this knowledge to help in my career this summer. I’m 16 with little experience with kids but this course makes me feel so much more prepared and ready to care! I do feel that some of it was basic common sense but I’m glad they still covered it for some people.

Good class but missing some vital info
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.LuluH6 years agoMy daughter took this class. She thought it was good info and enjoyed it. That said, she was disappointed there is no CPR aspect (as I believe there was in the past?) because she really wants to learn that as well. I don't see any non-certification CPR classes available through American Red Cross that seem to fit the bill for this kind of thing. This seems like vital info that is missing if someone is interested in babysitting, particularly since there doesn't appear to be another class that ... fills in that gap without full certification which seems excessive for a 12 year old.

Very good and helpful, but could also be improved
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Lens226 months agoThis was very good and I liked how they let you practice on baby dolls. But it could definitely be improved, like for example giving us more information about lunch in the website, because my child didn’t know what the lunch situation was so she didn’t have anything to eat and nobody did anything about it. But overall a pretty good experience and it was very helpful!

Great class
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Wes30303 months agoI really enjoyed this class and learned a lot! I did not know how to take care of infants before and learned how to change a diaper and feed a baby. I also learned a lot about how to help children resolving conflict while babysitting and different leadership styles to try depending on the situation. I liked the videos too.
