Taking a BLS Class
Basic Life Support Training
The American Red Cross offers BLS training for individuals and teams, and courses that are held entirely in person, or through our blended Simulation Learning experience, which combines online classwork with in-person skills sessions. This way, you can learn on your schedule - and in the way that suits you best. Regardless of which type of course you choose, you'll receive instruction from world-class professionals, as well as science-based information that includes the latest protocols, so you can deliver care to those in need and help improve patient outcomes.
Providing BLS Care
For BLS providers, when emergencies arise, it's your job to be able to provide care to whomever is in need. That's why Red Cross BLS classes cover best practices for delivering care to infants, children and adults. And because skills can be lost if they're not used regularly, we also offer refresher materials and a printout of some basic BLS steps that can help you stay sharp between calls.

Quick, informative, and fun!

He figured out what everyone’s levels of knowledge were and helped everyone individually improve their skills. I am happy to take this class and stay up to date on the new techniques since my last course. He was also very helpful over email when I had a question. I did 1/2 online 1/2 in person. I liked doing the lecture part online because I think I paid better attention to everything. Overall I would definitely recommend this course! They also provide a AHA ... tester if you need both (it costs extra).

Good Quality but Unnecessarily Long
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.VaEMT3 years agoThe course was good quality and the instructor was thorough, but the slides and videos during the in-person portion took longer than I believe that they should've. I may have just been impatient because I've taken the course before and I was only recertifying, so take my review with a grain of salt. Even with that accounted for, I still think that the information in the slides could have been condensed down into a more efficient presentation. Otherwise, it was a good course with a decent ... amount of hands-on work with adult/infant dummies. The instructor was very polite and I believe that she is competent in the subject matter.

Hybrid Online/In-Person Healthcare BLS
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.Hybrid1 week agoI thought the CPR class was well-organized and informative overall. The instructors were knowledgeable and did a great job demonstrating the hands-on skills. However, I felt that the in-person portion was a bit too long, especially since we had already completed the online class and covered all the material there. It would have been more efficient if the in-person session focused mainly on practicing and demonstrating the hands-on skills rather than re-reviewing everything we had already learned online.

I appreciate that she truly made participants practice the skills and the training mannequins were different from others I've worked with. Very cool. Although a real person won't light up, I think it was good feedback for people who don't know how to compress properly.

Very Engaging + Informative
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.cnastudent1 day agoI have been working as a Certified Nursing Assistant for nearly 3.5 years now in long-term care, but looking to move into the hospital setting often requires a BLS certification. I was able to book this class, then take both the learning and demonstrative portions in-person in the same day. The instructor made things interesting and didn't make the class feel super daunting and strung out. The group demonstrations were engaging as it helped gain a better sense of what things are like in a ... real-life emergency. I would absolutely recommend.

The instructor was very in depth with his knowledge and skills administered amongst the class. The information and skills provided prepares you for critical thinking, problem solving, and emergencies that aims for overall quality patient improvement for life. For whatever level of healthcare you may be in, this class was very efficient, accurate, and professional. Another great aspect of this class was the professor had a phenomenal ... personality. I highly recommend all walks of life that is looking to gain insightful knowledge and skill about saving the lives of others.
