Taking a BLS Class

Basic Life Support Training
The American Red Cross offers BLS training for individuals and teams, and courses that are held entirely in person, or through our blended Simulation Learning experience, which combines online classwork with in-person skills sessions. This way, you can learn on your schedule - and in the way that suits you best. Regardless of which type of course you choose, you'll receive instruction from world-class professionals, as well as science-based information that includes the latest protocols, so you can deliver care to those in need and help improve patient outcomes.

Providing BLS Care
For BLS providers, when emergencies arise, it's your job to be able to provide care to whomever is in need. That's why Red Cross BLS classes cover best practices for delivering care to infants, children and adults. And because skills can be lost if they're not used regularly, we also offer refresher materials and a printout of some basic BLS steps that can help you stay sharp between calls.

Great class to cover all the basics
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.hidden_name5 years agoGreat class to cover the basics. Designed for use in a hospital setting rather that out and about in the real world.

He made learning fun and was 100% real with the information he was presenting. His passion for the training truly shows and this will forever be a memorable one! Thanks again!

Very informative. Best class I have taken so far.
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.muziani54 years agoI took the BLS class in Princeton NJ. It was the best class I have taken so far and I have been in a couple different classes that were not with the American Red Cross. I definitely will continue to recertify with the American Red Cross. I learned so much more and my instructor was great. He really took the time to go over everything and made sure everyone was doing things properly and explained something if someone needed it.

Basic Life Support
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Joy Ann4 years agoI registered same week and got my money's worth. It was worth the trip. Excellent teaching methods. Loved our instructor. She allows you to make mistakes and do not pressure you. She also grouped us in the second group work. She allowed us to work as a team. Loved my classmates too and my group mates. I was the least experienced in this kind of training but because of them, I had a great time learning the lesson and learning from my mistakes. Loved our group. Thanks for the encouragement and great teamwork!

Good for both Newbies and Healthcare Veterans
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Silphy2 months agoI've taken several CPR + BLS courses over my healthcare career and I feel this one is the most comprehensive. It seems to use the most updated info, so even someone like me who's been working in healthcare for a while learned a few new things. Also, they use mannequins for CPR that have indicator lights that light up in real time to show if your compression rhythm is approi, which makes it much easier to know what the appropriate compression rate should feel like. I recommend this to anyone ... going into healthcare for the first time or looking to stay up to date with their knowledge.

Thorough, Enthusiastic Instruction
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Eddie V2 weeks agoI was very pleased with my Basic Life Support training. The facilitator Amy was detail oriented and thoughtful in her instruction. She emphasized the importance of following each step when helping someone, and she made our groups restart the process during the simulated intervention portions of the seminar if we happened to miss something. Her ability to interweave between the Red Cross presentation and the hands-on exercises was excellent.

Excelllent Instructor
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.JBerglund6 years agoI took the BLS instructor course last week and could not be more impressed with the instructor. I have been BLS (or equivalent) certified for at least 12 years and this course put together my previous experience and knowledge and made me very comfortable to teach it in the future.

Very Engaging + Informative
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.cnastudent1 month agoI have been working as a Certified Nursing Assistant for nearly 3.5 years now in long-term care, but looking to move into the hospital setting often requires a BLS certification. I was able to book this class, then take both the learning and demonstrative portions in-person in the same day. The instructor made things interesting and didn't make the class feel super daunting and strung out. The group demonstrations were engaging as it helped gain a better sense of what things are like in a ... real-life emergency. I would absolutely recommend.

BLS class
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Billiee3 weeks agoI recently took the BLS class as I needed it for nursing school and it went well beyond my expectations. Etty (sorry for the spelling, definitely not how he spells his name) was amazing. He was funny and his positive uplifting attitude made it easier to learn. I would recommend this class to everyone and I will be returning when it is time to renew my BLS.
