Whether you take an instructor-led class, an online course, or take advantage of our blended learning experience, which combines online coursework with instructor-led training, you'll learn from some of the best in the industry. Knowledgeable, understanding and able to deliver information suited to a wide range of learning styles, American Red Cross first aid instructors will help ensure that you not only understand the steps for performing first aid, but that you have the confidence and skills necessary to perform them correctly.

Performing First Aid
At the Red Cross, first aid training prepares you to provide care to children, adults, and pets during times of crisis. However, like many things, if you don't use your skills frequently, they're easy to forget. That's why, when you take our first aid certification classes, you'll also receive free online access to our first aid refreshers and a printable list of the basic steps for performing first aid. This way, you can practice your skills regularly, and keep reminders in the places you might need them most, like in the first aid kit in your car, home, or desk.

Made me want to keep learning and practicing
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.GSCa3 years agoThe online portion was a little glitchy at times, but the organization was stepped well, required increasing autonomy to internalize skills while keeping a good amount of support/scaffolding, and in general felt like people who were good instructors designed it. The sections were a good length. The in-person instructor, Randy, was excellent. To the point but also patient, used humor well, and I felt set a high bar for himself and the class while also being extremely supportive. I was actually ... a little disappointed to leave and would like to take further training with him.

Awesome Instructor!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.A aron 753 years agoI attended the Skills Session on January 24th in Minneapolis. The instructor was phenomenal! He went above and beyond just the skills and explained in detail WHY things are done the way they are. It was also helpful that he had real-world experience in the medical field and has been emergency situations. I was required to attend this training for my job and was not enthused about going, however, it turned out to be extremely interesting and I would recommend this training to anyone!

Great Class
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Ebbs982 months agoI honestly was very nervous going into this class. I never thought that I would pass but here we are with my first aid certification/CPR/AED. The instructor did an incredible job, not only teaching, but guiding us with the tools in the skills that we Will need in the future. This makes me want to sign up for even more classes to get even more skills and certifications. Thank you to the instructor and all the other instructors. We appreciate you guys.

Love the Blended Learning option!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.NicoleL3 years agoI had never taken a partially online/in person CPR/First Aid training prior to this course. What I needed refreshers on was easily explained via the online portion but the skills in person portion was the best part. The instructor gave awesome scenarios of potential situations to assist participants not only skill building, but also how we may react quickly in a real situation. Highly recommend this course and the instructor!

Solid work!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.mochafro4 years agoCourse is an excellent introduction to creating a base skillset for basic CPR (for adults adults and pediatric) and First Aid, along with utilizing an AED and knowing how to take action and assess in an emergency setting. The online portion drills in the knowledge and behavior set, and the instructor reinforces said information to teach best practices. The instructor Keith, possessed an encyclopedia of knowledge along with an engaging and warm attitude!

This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.PulmIDCPR4 weeks agoMy instructor didn’t introduce himself or have any of us introduce ourselves to him. Backward start to the class but I learned a lot and was happy overall with my training. He was very knowledgeable, just not very personable.

I had fun learning!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Blessed ONe5 days agoI was able to get into a class at the last minute. I was nervous at first because I know how important the info is and I really needed to pass. The instructer was very nice and made sure we understood our assignments. We practiced what we learned and that helped us to remember the information that was giving. Thank you I feel a lot more prepared for an emergency than I did before.
