Performing First Aid
At the Red Cross, first aid training prepares you to provide care to children, adults, and pets during times of crisis. However, like many things, if you don't use your skills frequently, they're easy to forget. That's why, when you take our first aid certification classes, you'll also receive free online access to our first aid refreshers and a printable list of the basic steps for performing first aid. This way, you can practice your skills regularly, and keep reminders in the places you might need them most, like in the first aid kit in your car, home, or desk.

Awesome training, tech could be improved

Training felt thorough and clear. 4 stars because logging into Red Cross for the first time is a doom loop of frustration. Even my tech savvy husband struggled to figure it out.

He was thorough, smart, witty, funny, put us at ease, professional. As an older gentleman, he gave us also some good" life gem" advice/ lessons as a bonus. My bad, I forgot his name. I'll never forget what a great, inspiring instructor he has been! Thank you very much Sir, and God bless you!

Good hybrid course, but allow for long online part
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.foodsummercamp1 week agoThe at-home portion took a LOT longer than I had anticipated (4.5 hours!), but it was informative and helped me feel knowledgeable about a variety of potential crises and appropriate responses. I hadn't renewed my first aid certification in a number of years, so was grateful for the comprehensive refresher. The in-person portion was solid, and we completed the tasks for final certification.

Mixed bag

Would be better to give all the questions at once and let the student answer all of them and then give results. Much fewer clicks that way. The in-person class started out horrible since the female instructor simply read every word of the slides. And she even stumbled over many of the words and did not seem to understand the concepts whatsoever. She seemed rather confused as to what she was supposed to ... be teaching. But then the male instructor helped out and he was extremely knowledgeable with lots of experience. So glad he was there.

Excellent instructor
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Kristel3 years agoThis is my second time taking the Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course. Of the two instructors I've had, this instructor, Melanie, was by far the best. She was engaging and interactive. She kept us entertaining and encouraged participation. She was open to question and answered them very well. I love that she provided her own experiences as well. Additionally, she provided a pretty good explanation of why certain steps are taken based on physiological principles. I have my PhD physiology ... and neuroscience, and the way she explained why processes are implemented in a certain way really helped us remember the content.

She is very knowledgeable and represents The American Red Cross well. This was with fifth time taking a CRP/AED/First Aid course and this was for sure my favorite class. It was my first time taking it through the American Red Cross. I learned many new things throughout this class. I also took a First Aid for Opioid Overdose class online a few days after this class and was also very pleased. I plan ... to take one or two more online courses. I help with first aid at my church and I now feel I am more prepared in the event of a medical emergency.

All encompassing

We went through an entire overview covering various emergency scenarios and medical conditions to ensure confidence in our ability to act as a first responder on the scene. The instructor was very polite and provided valuable information that went in depth and better explained what the videos were missing. Great teacher!

I never thought that I would pass but here we are with my first aid certification/CPR/AED. The instructor did an incredible job, not only teaching, but guiding us with the tools in the skills that we Will need in the future. This makes me want to sign up for even more classes to get even more skills and certifications. Thank you to the instructor and all the other instructors. We appreciate you guys.

I was able to retain a lot of the information as well to apply it for future insuations. I would recommend this instructor for future training.Thank you, Ms.Yadira.
