Performing First Aid
At the Red Cross, first aid training prepares you to provide care to children, adults, and pets during times of crisis. However, like many things, if you don't use your skills frequently, they're easy to forget. That's why, when you take our first aid certification classes, you'll also receive free online access to our first aid refreshers and a printable list of the basic steps for performing first aid. This way, you can practice your skills regularly, and keep reminders in the places you might need them most, like in the first aid kit in your car, home, or desk.

A good teacher, who knew all of the subjects well
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.Chermon2 weeks agoI thought the class was a good class. The teacher was fine and all of that, but I think a little ttoo much to cram into three hours. I’m used to doing the 9 to 3 type thing for all three of those combined. Had I not done This class multiple times Before, it might’ve been difficult to memorize a lot of of the steps for each task, but I got through it and I’m grateful I did and I want to thank you for my certification update!

I never thought that I would pass but here we are with my first aid certification/CPR/AED. The instructor did an incredible job, not only teaching, but guiding us with the tools in the skills that we Will need in the future. This makes me want to sign up for even more classes to get even more skills and certifications. Thank you to the instructor and all the other instructors. We appreciate you guys.

Excellent instructor
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Kristel3 years agoThis is my second time taking the Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course. Of the two instructors I've had, this instructor, Melanie, was by far the best. She was engaging and interactive. She kept us entertaining and encouraged participation. She was open to question and answered them very well. I love that she provided her own experiences as well. Additionally, she provided a pretty good explanation of why certain steps are taken based on physiological principles. I have my PhD physiology ... and neuroscience, and the way she explained why processes are implemented in a certain way really helped us remember the content.

This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.mochafro3 years agoCourse is an excellent introduction to creating a base skillset for basic CPR (for adults adults and pediatric) and First Aid, along with utilizing an AED and knowing how to take action and assess in an emergency setting. The online portion drills in the knowledge and behavior set, and the instructor reinforces said information to teach best practices. The instructor Keith, possessed an encyclopedia of knowledge along with an engaging and warm attitude!

I leaned a lot and was surprised what I thought I knew about burns was wrong. The instructor was amazing full of knowledge and energy, she actually made the class fun, exciting and learning easy. I know for a fact I can give CPR AND FIRST AID TO AN ADULT OR CHILD WHICH COULD RESULT IN SAVING A LIFE! Thank you Catina!

Awesome Instructor!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.A aron 753 years agoI attended the Skills Session on January 24th in Minneapolis. The instructor was phenomenal! He went above and beyond just the skills and explained in detail WHY things are done the way they are. It was also helpful that he had real-world experience in the medical field and has been emergency situations. I was required to attend this training for my job and was not enthused about going, however, it turned out to be extremely interesting and I would recommend this training to anyone!

Great Class but Slightly Strange Format

I felt a lot more confident in my knowledge and abilities after the class. My only issue with the class is that I took the Adult First Aid/CPR/AED class but the in-person skills class also included the children's section so I had to sit through some information that I wasn't getting certified for. It wasn't a big deal but it seems like they should have put that information at the end so those who didn't need that ... information could leave early.

Good Course
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.UrbanFarm3 weeks agoThe instructor was REALLY good and thorough. He was the MOST thorough instructor I've had and I have done this course about 4 times. He stayed on track and didn't waste time. He explained things clearly and effectively, and he made sure everyone knew how to do the exercises before we were done. The website is a little tricky to navigate.

He was thorough, smart, witty, funny, put us at ease, professional. As an older gentleman, he gave us also some good" life gem" advice/ lessons as a bonus. My bad, I forgot his name. I'll never forget what a great, inspiring instructor he has been! Thank you very much Sir, and God bless you!

Some hiccups.
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.Dmugs4 weeks agoMy company signed me up for the class. A little frustrating when the class was canceled after I had begun the online training portion. My company resigned me up and I was able to complete the course. Though the online portion was a little deceptive on how long that portion would take. The in class portion went a lot smoother. I appreciated the instructor trying to keep it light with a little humor.
