Easy Bridging to Become
a Red Cross Instructor
Do you or your Instructors, Instructor Trainers and/or Training Center Faculty hold a current Instructor certification from a comparable training organization such as the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Health & Safety Institute (HSI)? If so, it’s easy to bridge to American Red Cross training courses.
1. Register for the appropriate bridge.
2. Fill out the online form and submit it with the required credentials.
3. Review program materials for the course.
4. Take the free online Instructor bridge course. No in-person class is required.

Easy Crossover or Reentry Courses to become a Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor
Do you have Instructors and/or Instructor Trainers certified with another equivalent training program and interested in teaching Red Cross Lifeguarding Programs? It’s easy to get trained by completing an abbreviated blended learning crossover course designed for Instructors to achieve Red Cross instructor certification to teach. For more information, visit the Instructor Candidates Page on the Red Cross Learning Center.
If you are unable to find a course in your area, please reach out to your local aquatic facility.

EMR Instructor Bridge-online
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.MedicE403 years agoOur company is thinking about training some of our officers to be EMRs to assist our EMTs. I enjoy instructing and this gives us the ability to train in-house. The ability to take this course on-line is very convenient.

Excelllent Instructor
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.JBerglund6 years agoI took the BLS instructor course last week and could not be more impressed with the instructor. I have been BLS (or equivalent) certified for at least 12 years and this course put together my previous experience and knowledge and made me very comfortable to teach it in the future.

Perfect transition to high levels of service
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.AndiF4 years agoI had completed the CPR/AED/First Aid instructor course, and I needed to add the Bridge to train different levels of staff. This was a simple and effective way to upgrade my certification. Access to course materials were made available once I uploaded my current Instructor Cert. You will need to poke around to find the resources needed for the course. Give yourself some time for preparation to train the course as there is a learning curve involved. Nothing too complicated, but it will require a ... bit of effort and time to navigate the Red Cross system. It is easy to master. The search bar works wonders.

Video, books easy to understand
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.WfrSteve1 year agoThe course is self paced on the computer which is nice for working adults. For me course was easy. I've been a Wilderness First Responder. WFR for 32 years. EMT for 9.5 years The ability to bridge is great for people who have knowledge, experience with wilderness medicine. The Red Cross needs to update out dated techniques.

It was fine
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.SuzyA4 years agoNot super interesting; a lot of reviewing the manual and answering questions. I think a few videos showing skills or how to teach the skills would have been helpful and made the course more interesting.

Was confusing at first
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.mzcheryl5 years agoGetting started is a little tedious but once you get going it is ok. It took me a week between credential upload to take the class as i was waiting for a go ahead email. I finally went into the website and discovered that my credentials were good and i could take the class. Uploading credentials for every class you want to take is kind of a pain in the butt. Don't try to start anything just before a holiday weekend. I work weekend so i thought it was perfect time to get started, not. Uploaded ... certification Thursday evening and had to wait until Tuesday to be approved. Website stated Monday the holiday closed but nothing about Friday. I was dissapointed.
