The EMR Instructor Bridge is an online course for existing Red Cross instructors with equivalent experience or EMR Instructors from other training agencies. Equivalent experience for Red Cross instructors includes state licensure/certification as Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) or Paramedics.It is very important that instructors review and follow the directions on the attachment included with this course.Candidates must meet course prerequisites and upload qualifying credential to complete the training and earn American Red Cross instructor (trainer) certification.

This course equips Training Faculty/Instructor Trainers currently certified with approved and equivalent training organizations to become certified as American Red Cross Basic Life Support Instructor Trainers to teach the Basic Life Support Instructor course and the base-level Basic Life Support program in all available delivery methods. This training is consistent with the 2025 evidence-based science guidelines and covers teaching strategies and techniques used when teaching courses and lessons. Participants complete an online course including knowledge-based learning using Red Cross course materials to effectively evaluate participant performance provide corrective feedback and conduct skill practice and testing scenarios. Participants are required to upload qualifying credentials for review and if approved must successfully complete the online course and final assessment to earn an American Red Cross Basic Life Support Instructor and Instructor Trainer certificate valid for two years.
