Rated 4 out of 5 by Bill Lip from Looks like what Our Daughter & Her Family needed I & My Wife bought this as a Early X-mas present for My Daughter who lives in Hope Mills, N.C. After living there and going thru the Hurricanes and My being a Citizens Prepardnes Instructor, We thought this is a very important item to naturally have. They do have a back-up generator but that can have some breakdowns or just run out of gas in the area itself, this way they have some contact for next steps. I got one a few years ago, sorry wasn't from Red Cross, but I do just keep Mine up and charged just in case. I has have a natural gas generator, but what happens if they have to shut down for a major disater.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MonaT from Included battery doesn't fit My wife bought this radio over a year ago. The included rechargeable battery doesn't fit. We cannot get the cover on if the battery is in place. I waited too long to return it to the Red Cross, and the only thing customer service at Eton would say is that I must not be putting it in right. (I grew up in the 70s and 80s. I know how to install batteries in a radio and close the cover.) It's a very expensive radio to have to use duct tape to keep the battery compartment closed. Everything works, otherwise, but this is very frustrating, and detracts from the usefulness of the radio. I will never buy another product from Eton.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MGKLT from FRX3 does not have a location for AAA batteries. I bought several FRX2 units and several FRX3 units for gifts. I got the FRX3 units because the video showed (at 0:35) "AAA batteries" with an arrow. I like as many power sources as possible; fresh AAA batteries are the easiest, at least at first, for the potentially frazzled who might not remember to pre-charge. But when I received the FRX3 radios, I discovered that there's only a rechargeable battery, and no place in the radio for AAAs. The rechargeable battery is 2600 mAh, 3.7 V, and it appeared to have a full charge upon arrival.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KM platelet donor from Great for home emergencies and camping. I bought this on impulse, since the emergency radio I had was several years old, and not always working. Then we took this along on a camping trip (primitive, no electricity). It was very handy and we used it more than we thought just to listen to the radio, and charge our phones.

Rated 4 out of 5 by cheeseburger from Technology is good with these I feel these could use a little modifying such as using 3 rechargeable C batteries in parallel rated at a mere 1000 milli amp hours, doing so we can charge our cell phones more often next the flashlight feature, we can get more battery power going with 1 cree led maybe let us hold the button down for 3 seconds each to switch over to low medium high finally the antenna, if we are to stay with 1970s technology we could go with a mini rubberized antenna
