A valid base-level (provider) card is preferred by the Red Cross and should be submitted/verified whenever possible. If a provider card is not obtainable, an AHA instructor card may be accepted for a basic-level certification requirement, but instructors should ensure they retain documentation from their Training Center/Training Faculty confirming successful demonstration of provider-level skills and competency should verification ever be required.
