The online Advanced Life Support instructor bridge is designed to allow instructors currently certified with approved equivalent training organizations to become certified as American Red Cross Advanced Life Support instructors. To participate in the instructor bridge candidates must hold a current provider level (basic-level) certification and an equivalent instructor certification from the American Heart Association or ASHI.Candidates must meet course prerequisites and upload qualifying credential to complete the training and earn American Red Cross instructor certification.Those who have enrolled in this online bridge course on or after May 13 2021 will not be required to complete an Instructor Update in order to teach new Advanced Life Support Focused Updates and Guidelines 2020 content releasing in June 2021.

Certification

Red Cross courses offer Digital Certification, an online version of a Red Cross certificate, which provides anytime, anywhere access to student training history and course certificates. Digital certificates can be viewed, printed or shared online and can be accessed anytime through your Red Cross Account. Each certificate includes a unique ID and a QR code which meets employment requirements and allows employers to easily confirm your certificate is valid. There is no need to carry your printed certificate around anymore!

Prerequisites
To participate in the Advanced Life Support Instructor Bridge, candidates must hold a current provider level (basic-level) certification and one of the equivalent instructor certifications from the table below. Once registered for this bridge course and logged into the Red Cross Learning Center, you will be required to upload a copy of your instructor-level credential from the table below. Your credentials will be reviewed by a Red Cross representative. If you qualify for the Advanced Life Support Instructor Bridge, a Red Cross representative will provide confirmation of approval (via email). Once approved, you can return to the Learning Center and launch the online course.
