Take a Red Cross CPR Class

Red Cross CPR Training
American Red Cross CPR classes are designed for the way you live, and learn. With options available on weekdays and weekends, plus online, instructor-led and blended learning course formats, you can get the CPR training you need on your schedule. From personalized learning to interactive scenarios to peer-to-peer learning and hands-on skills practice, our world-class instruction will give you the skills and confidence to perform this life-saving procedure when it's needed the most.

Performing CPR
When it comes to CPR, it's important to know how to treat both kids and adults. That's why, unless you sign up for a class that focuses on one population, our CPR trainings cover the procedures/steps for caring for adults, as well as children. Although we will prepare you to deliver care when it's needed most, the truth is, if you don't use your skills regularly, you're likely to lose them. So, to help prevent or mitigate loss of skills we offer online refresher materials that can help you retain the knowledge you've gained. In addition, we also provide you with access to a printable list of the basic steps for performing CPR. This way, you can keep the information you need right at your fingertips.

Insightful and practical training
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.PhilipR564 years agoI learned a lot from this training. I hope that I am not required to use the training but I feel confident that if the need arises I am much better prepared than I was to help. I discovered that I didn't know the basics for example when to and when not to use CPR. I found the Check Call Care approach logical and I am sure it has saved lives. And the SAMPLE checklist is very helpful. There is a lot to remember from this short course. Our instructor was wonderful - patient and professional.

Great learning experience!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.CoachChelsea4 years agoFor a very easy to understand and engaging way to gain CPR/AED skills, I would recommend the Red Cross class I just took. The online components were not just boring videos but repetitive practice of the most important skills when providing assistance in an emergency. The in-person skills practice followed all the safe practices for covid prevention while still allowing for real practice of skills using dummies and tools like the practice AED. I left feeling confident that I can provide quality ... care in the event of an emergency!

Instructor and Training Were Great!
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.StephRiv4 years agoI didn't know what to expect when I signed up for this course because of how Covid has really changed the way we do almost everything. So I was worried it would be more video instruction and not so much hands on. I actually really ended up loving the video modules followed by the in class instruction. Our instructor was very articulate in explaining the CPR and AED procedure. And, yes, you do get to practice with a "dummy". I think that the instructor made something that can be mundane an ... enjoyable and memorable experience.

Great foundation to understand the techniques
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.ACSK856 years agoI found the pre-work online portion to be very useful. It was detailed, interactive and really taught the techniques well. Once we got in person, it made the hands on portion much easier and solidified the knowledge well. My only negative about the course was that, while the instructor was good, he had an incredibly strong accent that made it difficult to understand a lot of what was being talked about. If I hadn't done the pre-work, I would not have understood much.

Instructor needs some coaching
This reviewer rated product 4 out of 5 stars.akwild262 days agoThe information offered in the class was very good. It had been years since I renewed my certification, and I was very pleased with the breadth of classes offered through the Red Cross. Both instructors were nice. The young woman who led the class appeared to be new to instructing. She read almost verbatim from the PowerPoint slides and interacted very little with the class. Being more extemporaneous and other cues (eye contact, hand gestures, etc.) would greatly improve her delivery and ... effectiveness. Please don't take this as gratuitous criticism -- I would just recommend more coaching and practice so her delivery is more effective. As I said, the class itself was excellent and I learned (or relearned) a lot.

Great Course

Concise and Thorough
This reviewer rated product 5 out of 5 stars.Amf223 weeks agoTom's in-person skills training was concise but very thorough. He demonstrated the proper techniques, and everyone had their own mannequin on which to practice. He shared great tips and real-life situations in which these skills would be applicable. Tom covered CPR, AED, and first aid.

Everything from registering for the appointment, communications about the appointment and the class itself were very efficient. The instructor Virginia Marchant was excellent keeping the session moving along while covering everything and answering all of the questions as the came up.
