BECOME AN INSTRUCTOR TRAINER
Do you or your Instructors, Instructor Trainers and/or Training Center Faculty hold a current Instructor certification from a comparable training organization such as the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Health & Safety Institute (HSI)? If so, it’s easy to bridge to American Red Cross training courses.
1. Register for the appropriate bridge course. 2. Fill out the online form and submit it with the required credentials. 3. Review program materials for the course. 4. Take the free online Instructor bridge course. No in-person class is required.

Do you have Instructors and/or Instructor Trainers certified with another equivalent training program and interested in teaching Red Cross Lifeguarding Programs? It’s easy to get trained by completing an abbreviated blended learning crossover course designed for Instructors to achieve Red Cross instructor certification to teach. I am incredibly appreciative for the opportunity to participate in this certification course. Not only did I solidify my understanding of First Aid, CPR, and AED use for emergency situations--I was able to practice planning for teaching the skills to others and facilitating a lesson. There are lots of aspects of teaching a skill to others that you wouldn't know to plan or prepare for without practicing it or attempting to teach for the first time, so our in person session was essential to my learning and preparation to be an Instructor for others. Mike was a great facilitator for our session, and he shared lots of valuable tips for us when preparing for our first class after certification. I also appreciate how warm and positive the environment was for this course session--it helped me to feel more comfortable with the material and giving my 'Practice Lessons' and made me feel as though we were all there to learn how to be good instructors, so there was room for improvement throughout the day.
