Red Cross courses may teach some or all of the components shown below. When scheduling your training, be sure to select the course that is right for you. Posted materials are FREE to view, download or print. You may also purchase affordable printed copies. All First Aid, CPR and AED training carry 2-year certification.

Training meets OSHA Guidelines for First Aid Programs and combines lecture, interactive video demonstrations featuring emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a variety of environments and hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills.
  • First Aid: Participants learn to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies, such as burns, cuts and scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck and back injuries, and heat and cold emergencies.
  • CPR Adult: Participants learn how to perform CPR and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults
  • CPR Child and Infant: Participants learn how to prevent, recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in infants and children under 12
  • AED: Participants learn how to use automatic external defibrillators

Length of class will vary dependent on selection of topics.

La Cruz Roja Americana ofrece cursos que combinan distintos componentes de primeros auxilios, reanimación cardiopulmonar (RCP) y uso del desfibrilador externo automatizado (DEA) para adultos, niños y bebés. Los cursos de capacitación cumplen con las normas de la Administración de Salud y Seguridad Ocupacionales (OSHA) para programas de primeros auxilios. Los cursos combinan presentaciones, demostraciones interactivas mediante video que ilustran situaciones de emergencia que podrían ocurrir en distintos lugares, y la capacitación directa que permite a los participantes practicar habilidades que salvan vidas.

  • Primeros auxilios: Los participantes aprenden a reconocer y atender una variedad de emergencias de primeros auxilios como quemaduras, cortes y rozaduras; enfermedades repentinas; lesiones en la cabeza, el cuello o la espalda; y emergencias relacionadas con el calor o el frío.
  • RCP para adultos: Los participantes aprenden a dar RCP y atender emergencias respiratorias y cardíacas en adultos.
  • RCP para bebés: Los participantes aprenden a dar RCP y atender emergencias respiratorias y cardíacas en bebés y niños menores de 12 años de edad.
  • Uso del DEA: Los participantes aprenden cómo usar desfibriladores externos automatizados.

Todas las certificaciones para la capacitación de Primeros Auxilios y de RCP y DEA tienen 2 años de validez

This training course is designed for workers at risk for on-the-job exposure to blood or other body fluids that could cause infection.

Course length: 2 hours; 1 year certification; classroom and online learning options available

Designed for use by students in high school or college to learn how to provide proper care for emergencies involving adults, infants and children. Course includes first aid, CPR, injury management and disease transmission prevention.

Course length: 27 hours; 2 year certification
