In September 2022, Hurricane Ian moved across Florida leaving massive devastation in its wake, upending hundreds of thousands of lives – destroying homes, businesses, and livelihoods. The American Red Cross provided shelter, food, relief supplies, and comfort to disaster survivors, as well as financial assistance to severely affected households.
Thanks to our generous donors, the Red Cross is supporting long-term recovery efforts in affected areas in Florida through strategic grants to nonprofit organizations providing vital recovery services. Grants are dedicated to funding organizations and projects that assist the most vulnerable individuals, households and communities in their long-term recovery and resiliency activities with programs and services that embody the Red Cross values of care, respect, diversity, inclusiveness, transparency, and careful stewardship of all donor funds.
Using a Request for Proposal (RFP) process, the Red Cross Hurricane Ian Long-Term Recovery Program is focusing its funding in three areas of need:
- Individual and Household Needs
- Community Recovery Capacity Building
- Community Recovery and Resiliency
Applications will be accepted from March 20, 2023, to April 17, 2023.
