After the deadly terrorist attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, American Red Cross workers responded immediately, providing firefighters, police and other disaster relief personnel with food, beverages and shelter. Red Cross mental health counselors have also been on-site at the Pentagon to talk to families who lost a loved one during the attack. These trained mental health counselors and disaster workers will be there for those affected families and emergency services workers in the weeks, months and even years to come.
